Docufilm screening Navigando con le vele dei sogni

The second evening of the 5th edition is dedicated to the theme of water, a universal symbol of balance, transformation, and renewal, but also a fragile resource at the center of global environmental challenges. Water is not only matter and landscape: it is also a metaphor for journey, introspection, and adaptation — values that jazz can express in a uniquely poetic way.

The evening will open with a partial screening of the documentary “Navigando con le vele dei sogni” (Sailing with the Sails of Dreams), written and directed by Angelo Gregorio and produced at the Italian Naval League – Cariati section, under the patronage of the National Italian Naval League.

In the heart of Calabria’s Ionian coast, the Cariati section represents a small community with a profound social impact. With dedication and passion, it has transformed its sailing school into a place of education, inclusion, and respect for the sea, becoming a point of reference for the entire local community.

Through the voices of the children of the sailing school, the League’s board members, and local institutions, the documentary highlights the social and educational value of sailing as a path toward growth, collaboration, and respect for the marine environment.

The screening — in Italian with English subtitles — will take place in the presence of a delegation of young participants and representatives from the Cariati Naval League, who will travel to Brussels to share their story with the audience.
