Jazz Wednesday

The Format

Mercoledì in Jazz is a lecture-concert series created by the Belgian Italian Jazz Festival, conceived as a space where storytelling and live performance meet. Each evening combines a thematic talk—focused on major figures, styles and instruments of jazz history—with a concert directly inspired by the topic, offering the audience both context and artistic experience.

The first edition, held in 2025, exceeded expectations and was warmly received by the public for its intimate atmosphere, high artistic quality and strong educational value. The enthusiastic response naturally led to the growth of the project and its relocation to the theatre of the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels, marking a new, more institutional phase of the series.

The 2026 edition confirmed this success from its very first event: the opening concert of the season welcomed over 100 attendees, filling the theatre and highlighting the strong interest of the public in this unique format. Today, Mercoledì in Jazz stands as a key cultural rendez-vous in Brussels, strengthening the dialogue between music, history and communities, and reaffirming jazz as a powerful tool for cultural exchange and shared reflection.
